An artist I subscribe to named Damleg asked a very pertinent question. What do you believe in? Fate or Causalities.
Personaly I believe in causalities.
If I were to believe in fate, that would mean that I would have to accept that there is a higher being in control of everything and that everything that happens from the beat of a birds wing to a dictator ordering a massacre is predetermined.
This would leave me feeling very powerless because it eliminates the prospect of free will, because what we choose was never really our choice to begin with.
The idea of having control of your own destiny, I like that a lot more than 'if it's meant to
